As of 2015, Orfox is the only mobile application recommended by The Tor Project to use Tor Privacy on Android. The Tor Project has released the official Tor browser for Android, which is currently in alpha. Orfox will be phased out in early 2019 when a stable Tor browser for Android is released. Orfox is based on the same source code as the Tor browser (which is built on Firefox), but with some minor changes to the privacy features to make it compatible with Firefox for Android and the Android operating system.
Orfox Orbot is an Android application to connect to the Tor network.
As much as possible, we stick to the goals of the Tor browser (https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser/design/) by keeping as much of their current code as possible and extending their work to additional Android-Firefox-for-Android components.
