Constructing a CSV File

The following columns should be included in your CSV file, as seen above:
- The name of the Trello card is represented by this field.
- Description – Any extra information you’d want to provide in the description box of the card.
- List – This is the list in which the card will be produced.
- Members — A semicolon-delimited list of one or more complete names of Trello board members who should be assigned to the card.

- Completed – This field may be set to True or False to indicate whether the card will be archived or not after it is imported.
- The Fields that may be customized created into the sample Trello board you’re working with are represented by the last three columns in the example above. The value of a checkbox is represented by the Is Paid and Member Paid columns, while the Link column displays text.

How to Make a Trello Connection
You must first create a connection between Import2 Wizard and Trello before you can begin the import process.
- After login into your Import2 Wizard account, you’ll be presented with a dashboard similar to the one seen below.
- To begin integrating Import2 Wizard to Trello, go to CSV Import and click NEW.

- Select Create a New Connection.

- Then, scroll down and seek for Trello, or just type trello into the search box, as seen below, and click ADD.
To Trello, add the Import2 Wizard Connection.
- Now, scroll down and select Allow to provide Import2 Wizard access to your Trello account.

- After you’ve added the Trello connection in the previous stage, a page like the one below will appear. If you’re using the example Trello board, click the drop-down box in the center and choose Import2 Test Trello, then click ADD CONNECTION.

8. In the “What are you mapping?” section, choose Cards from the drop-down box.
9. Select Add new records from the “What do you want to do?” menu.
Then choose One-time import or Auto import from the “How often?” drop-down box.
If you need to submit CSV data on a frequent basis, the auto import option is useful.

You must now submit the CSV file to Import2 Wizard to finish the import settings. Use the screenshot below to guide you through these stages.
As illustrated below, click the CHOOSE FILE option and pick the CSV file to upload.

The Columns in the CSV file are displayed in the left-most drop-down box under Field Mappings, while the Fields for the cards in your Trello board are shown in the one next to it. For reference, see the screenshot below. In addition, the Fields in the right-hand drop-down box are divided into three categories: Standard Fields, Lookup Fields, and Fields that may be customized.

Click and choose Name from both drop-down boxes to map the Name field, then click the SAVE button to continue mapping additional data. It’s important to remember that the Name option is a Standard Field that represents the card names.
Description of Mapping
The Description field, which is also a Standard Field, allows you to provide more information about the card on your Trello board. Select the Description option from both drop-down boxes and click SAVE, as shown below.

Using a Lookup Field to Map The List
The List column from the CSV file is the third Standard Field we’re mapping, as seen in the picture below. Because you’ll need to utilize a Lookup Field to map a list, it’ll be a little different. The lookup field ensures that the cards on the Trello board are imported to the appropriate lists.
From the first two drop-down boxes, pick List, then Name as the Lookup Field, and click SAVE.

Organizing Members
Members may be mapped to each card using Lookup Field, just as in the previous section. In the Lookup Field, you have three options: Username, ID, and Complete Name; in this example, we picked Full Name since the member’s full name appears on the CSV file.
Choose Members from the first two drop-down boxes, then Full Name as the Lookup Field and click SAVE, as seen below.

Calculating Due Dates
The Due Date field is a little problematic since the format of the Due Date field in Import2 Wizard must match the format of the Due Date column in the CSV file. The format should be MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM AM/PM (MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM AM/PM). For a comparison, check at the screenshots below.

- From the first two drop-down boxes, choose the Due Date option.
- Make any required changes to the format before clicking SAVE.

As previously stated, marking a Completed field with either a “Yes” or “True” value will archive the relevant card.

- From the first drop-down menu, choose Completed.
- Then, on the right side, choose Closed from the drop-down box and click SAVE.

Mapping Fields that may be customized is no different than with the Standard Fields. At this point, there are only three fields left to map; Is Paid Task, Member Paid and Link. See the following image as your reference.
Follow these procedures one by one for each Custom Field.
- From the first drop-down box, choose the CSV column.
- Then, in the second drop-down box, choose the relevant custom field and click SAVE.

After mapping all of the fields, click the START IMPORT button to use the Import2 Wizard to import data into Trello. Depending on the amount of data you’re importing, the procedure may take some time to finish.
The outcome should be similar to what you see below, or you can open up your Trello board to observe the cards being imported one by one.
